2. Even low-end hosts have I/O speeds to match.
32-bit 33MHz PCI delivers 1Gb/s
3. But hosts still don’t keep up!
TCP/IP over Gigabit Ethernet typically delivers < 500 Mb/s.
4. What optimizations are most useful to reduce host overheads for fast TCP?
jumbo frames, checksum offloading, zero-copy, interrupt suppression....
5. Are they still important as hardware continues to advance?
