On July 29, 1999, Duke put out a press release on our experiments with gigabit-per-second TCP, reporting a peak bandwidth of 140 MB/s (1.147 Gb/s) as the first demonstration on public record of end-to-end TCP/IP at faster than a gigabit-per-second. The story was carried by the BBC and picked up by other press including the New York Times. The following links provide technical background on the experiments.
