Change to Department Mail Server
Mail System Change - May 26, 2005
The department mail server was upgraded yesterday, and there
was only a slight configuration error affecting a small set of users
who use duke.edu emails, as opposed to departmental email.
If you use am email address of the form...
- email@example.com - not affected
- firstname.lastname@example.org - affected
This change was not made arbitrarily; relaying for the
domain is no longer feasible due to the high number
of virus-related messages that we are bouncing. Accordingly, we are
removing the old default -- relaying for the entire duke.edu
domain -- on Tuesday May 31st. If you use a Duke address of the form
please make sure that you follow the instructions
below to update your client settings:
Again, this only affects users who use an email address of the form
